Speeder Bike Project

Materials: Super Sculpty, acrylic paint, and wire,
Description: Being a Star Wars Fan I grew up with many toys and figures that rezembled the actual charaters and vehicles, but were a little far from what I cosidered "Displayable" pieces. I understand that for a company to present a toy to be played with by 5 year olds and up that they have to follow a particular protocal so kids don't swallow pieces and end up sueing companies, but as a collector and perfectionist, I like my displays to resemble a certain likeness to that of the actual models and prtotypes used in the films. So once again I took my books and saw what needed to be changed and went for it. The actual toy never had a place for the figure to place their feet (or pedals) so the goal here was to make that and to make in a way where the figure looked like he was grabing the handels and not holding a gun. So I also had to modify the handels so the character held it side ways and not up and down. And once again, this was way before Hasbro made changes to their speeder bikes to look the way they do now which my changes still show better details than the new one. I recently got the new AT-AT Walker and it came with a new and improved "snow-speeder bike" (which was never in the movie) and the changes they made were a little closer than before, but not quite all there.

Cinderella's Coach - Pumpkin Contest
Materials: a small real pumpkin, wire, some super sculpty, fake flowers, beads, Cinderella cake topper (PCV figure), a wooden frame, pumpkin candy, cake topper grass, and acrylic paint (airbrushed).
Description: For Halloween, my wife's work held a Pumpkin carving contest. So I asked hr=er if she wanted to win and she said "yes", so I looked through all of my supplies and came up with this design. It took me 3 hours to do and she did win first place ($25 Starbucks Gift Card) and she eve got someone offer her to buy it off of her for their kid. Of course after a week the pumpkin rotted out and had to be thrown away, but we still have the props to someday redo.

Palm Sunday
I did this project for my boss who was a youth pastor. He wanted to do something for Palm Sunday and get the kids involved so I drew up a "How To" sheet on how to make polymer clay sculptings and the kids got really creative with it. I did the Jesus on the donkey and I got a piece of Foam Core and used scrap booking paper and carboard for the arch.

Hayao Miyazaki - Picture Frame
Materials: Generic picture frame, super sculpty, toothpicks, and acrylic paints.
Description: In this project I tried to bring together a mixture of Hayo Miyazaki's art work into one piece. So I combined a little of "My Neighbor Totoro", "Princess Mononokie", and "Spirited Away" characters into one frame.
